Case Study
Our locksmiths have been called out many times to repair damage done by less professional people.
As an example, this two bedroom condo located in the city of Orange, Orange County, CA. was "secured"
by a national REO/Bank Owned property servicing company hired by the bank. Not being furnished a key it was necessary
for the workers to gain entry to the property. They did so by first hammering on the door handle, then attempted
to drill into the keyhole, and finally "kick" in the front door.
Ultimately their work ruined the existing door lock and caused enough damage to the door and door jamb preventing
it from shutting or locking properly once the new locks were installed. In addition, the newly installed locks did
not match the existing lock and handle.
Also workers did not notice or did not try to open a rear storage closet on the patio, leaving it locked and
full of paint and other household chemicals.
In order to properly secure the property and bring it back to a salable condition, it was necessary for Lock
& Load to replace the front door, repair/replace the front door jamb and replace the lock and handle with
one that matched the others in the complex as required by the Homeowner's Association. Also, our licensed locksmiths
picked open and re-keyed the patio storage door lock while our trash-out crew properly disposed of the paint and
chemicals inside.
Our locksmithing, repair and trash-out work was completed as promised and with compliments from the real estate
agents.
In retrospect, the bank could have saved $490.00 in repair work, plus the cost of the initial work done by the
national property servicing company.
